Key Facts
In the new “Euphoria” footage, a voiceover of Zendaya’s character Rue confirms the new season will jump forward several years after the characters have graduated school.
“A few years after high school, I don’t know if life was exactly what I wished,” Zendaya’s Rue says.
The brief trailer offers glimpses of Maude Apatow’s Lexi at a formal dinner party, Alexa Demie’s Maddy adjusting her makeup, Jacob Elordi’s Nate dancing while nearly shirtless, Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie smiling in an animal costume and Hunter Schafer’s Jules leaning back in a chair with glittery eyeshadow.
The trailer depicts Rue in the passenger seat of a car driving at a high speed down a hill, and then shows her walking into a bar where a new character, reportedly a drug kingpin played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, says: “You walk up into my house, and you don’t even introduce yourself.”
Also Friday morning, the HBO social media accounts offered brief glimpses of lines from the season three script, including a line from Rue (“Life is precious”), Cassie (“The fairytale is over”), Nate (“You have to have faith”), Jules (“Remember me?”), Lexi (“I can’t abuse my power”), and another from Maddy (“It’s important to have a moral code”).
What Else Do We Know About “euphoria” Season 3?
HBO has not yet revealed the exact premiere date, but the new season will debut in April 2026. Showrunner Sam Levinson offered a few details about the new season at an HBO presentation last week, stating the season picks up with Rue south of the Mexican border trying to come up with money to pay off a drug dealer. He said Cassie and Nate get married, while Jules is in art school, Maddy works for a Hollywood talent agency and Lexi is an assistant to a showrunner, played by Sharon Stone.
