Emily in Paris is almost back on Netflix — but this time, Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) is trading Paris for Rome. Everyone’s favorite American expat continues her search for love in Season 5 of the hit romance series, premiering Thursday, Dec. 18.

The next chapter of Emily’s European adventure picks up after the Season 4 finale, which saw the social media guru spark a romance with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), the Roman heir to his family’s cashmere empire. She also settled into an Italian apartment and is opening an office in Rome for Agence Grateau.

According to creator Darren Star, Emily’s time in Rome is just one chapter of her journey, and viewers will also see her back in Paris. “Emily’s going to have a presence in Rome,” Star told Netflix’s Tudum. “It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris.”

Collins told Netflix that she’s excited for fans to see her character’s relationship with Marcello. “Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily, because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work-life balance,” she said. “We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time.”

As for Chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), his realization that he wants to be with Emily in the Season 4 finale comes too late, and he’ll now have to deal with the consequences. His on-and-off relationship with Camille (Camille Razat) is also officially over after the French actress revealed in April 2025 that she was leaving the show.

Ready to watch Emily’s search for love continue in Rome in Season 5? Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch new episodes, including the premiere time, release schedule and more.

The fifth season of Emily in Paris will have 10 episodes, just like the previous four seasons. However, one major change from last season is the episode rollout. In 2024, Season 4 was released in two parts over a month, with the first batch debuting on Aug. 15 and the second on Sept. 12.

This time around, Season 5 isn’t getting the multi-part treatment Netflix reserves for its biggest shows, such as Bridgerton and Stranger Things. Instead, fans will be able to watch all 10 episodes when the new season drops on Dec. 18, meaning you can binge the entire season at your leisure.

Here’s a full list of all the episodes and their titles:

  • Episode 1: “La Dolce Emily” (Airing Dec. 18)
  • Episode 2: “Got To Be Real” (Airing Dec. 18)
  • Episode 3: “Intimissimi Issues” (Airing Dec. 18)
  • Episode 4: “Rome Has Fallen” (Airing Dec. 18)
  • Episode 5: “Bonjour Paris!” (Airing Dec. 18)
  • Episode 6: “The One Where Emily Goes to the Embassy” (Airing Dec. 18)

  • Episode 8: “Fashion Statement” (Airing Dec. 18)
  • Episode 9: “La Belle Époque” (Airing Dec. 18)
