ZOZOTRADE Exchange Advances U.S. Regulatory Alignment With FinCEN MSB Registration

ZOZOTRADE Exchange has completed U.S. FinCEN MSB registration, reinforcing its compliance framework and regulatory alignment within the United States.

New York, NY

ZOZOTRADE Exchange, a global digital asset and financial technology platform, has confirmed the completion of its Money Services Business (MSB) registration with the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). The registration represents a key step in the company’s ongoing efforts to align its operations with established U.S. regulatory and compliance frameworks.

The platform’s U.S. operating entity is also registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), reflecting an additional layer of regulatory disclosure and governance within the U.S. financial system. The SEC serves as one of the primary financial regulators in the United States, responsible for overseeing securities markets, enforcing disclosure standards, and promoting transparency and investor protection across regulated financial activities.

FinCEN MSB Registration as a Core Compliance Milestone

FinCEN MSB registration is a foundational requirement for entities engaged in money transmission, foreign exchange, and certain digital asset-related services in the United States. Registered MSBs are required to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), including the implementation of anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CFT) programs, customer identification procedures, and transaction monitoring controls.

The completion of this registration underscores ZOZOTRADE Exchange’s focus on structured compliance, internal risk management, and operational transparency. Registration details are publicly available through FinCEN’s official MSB registrant search system.

SEC Regulatory Role and Governance Context

The SEC plays a central role in the U.S. regulatory architecture by establishing disclosure requirements, supervising registered entities, and supporting orderly market operations.

This layered regulatory presence contributes to the company’s governance framework while enabling operations within clearly defined compliance boundaries.

Supporting Global Operations Through Compliance Discipline

ZOZOTRADE Exchange serves users across multiple international markets and continues to invest in security infrastructure, data protection, and compliance systems. The company views alignment with U.S. regulatory bodies, including FinCEN and the SEC, as a long-term operational foundation supporting sustainable growth and responsible participation in the evolving digital asset ecosystem.

The post Tether’s Uruguay Bitcoin Mining Plans Could Be Over appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Tether’s push to expand Bitcoin mining in Uruguay has stalled after the state utility cut power to its local partner.  UTE, the national electricity provider, halted supply in late July over unpaid bills totaling nearly $5 million. The dispute also froze expansion efforts in the country’s Flores and Florida regions. Tether’s LATAM Bitcoin Mining Expansion Plan Hits Major Roadblock The USDT stablecoin operator entered Uruguay in 2023, promising renewable-powered Bitcoin mining. Uruguay’s abundant wind and hydro capacity made it a prime site for sustainable energy projects.  Sponsored Sponsored Tether partnered with a licensed operator, Microfin, to build facilities and secure long-term electricity deals. However, tension grew as costs and guarantees mounted. UTE required large deposits to secure the energy contracts, while Microfin sought tariff adjustments.  Negotiations led to a memorandum of understanding in June, but arrears remained unresolved. The failure to settle debts triggered the shutdown. Crypto Twitter Criticizing Tether’s Uruguay Backtrack. Source: X Tether had announced broader plans to control about 1% of the global Bitcoin network. The firm pledged hundreds of millions of dollars in South American mining projects, including sites in Paraguay.  The Uruguayan expansion was meant to anchor those ambitions. The company has emphasized that USDT reserves remain separate from its operational ventures. Mining revenue and energy assets are intended to diversify Tether’s business beyond stablecoin issuance.  Earlier this year, it also acquired a stake in Latin American agribusiness to link stablecoin use to commodity trade. The setback in Uruguay raises questions about the viability of energy-intensive mining in high-cost markets. While Paraguay and Texas have attracted miners with cheaper electricity, Uruguay’s grid is stricter on guarantees.  For now, Tether’s talks with UTE continue, but the timeline for restarting operations is unclear. Overall, this highlights the risks in tying stablecoin companies to volatile mining ventures. Tether…
